General Volunteer Interest

Things pop up year round.  Events will need setting up and tearing down.  Or teachers will need volunteers for transportation, in-classroom assistance, out of classroom assistance, or after-school activities.  If you would like to be part of a pool of volunteer commandoes, we would love to have you.  Just let us know!

Thank you, in advance, for your willingness to volunteer.  If you haven't already, please deliver the following documents to the school office.

  1. Volunteer Information Form
  2. A TB Risk Assessment Form completed by your Doctor (can be used in place of a negative TB test)

Additionally, if you are volunteering to transport students to field trips or athletic events please complete and deliver the following additional documents to the school office.

  1. Volunteer Driver Instructions and Liability Forms
  2. A copy of your Driver's License
  3. A copy of your current liability insurance declaration of at least $100,000 per occurrence

Our children grow up and eventually leave CMS for High School.  As such, Board Positions are vacated with some frequency.  So while we may already have board positions fulfilled, we're always looking for leaders to step up and become new Board Members.  We could use you!

Understandably, board positions might be too intimidating at first.  But there are many opportunities to volunteer and each is an integral part of the success of the PTSA and the Columbia Community at large.  In fact, these positions are likely more important, as they directly impact the students, faculty, parents of our Community.  Step up and lend a leadership hand.

President - Athletics Booster

The President must possess strong leadership skills. He/She ensures all officers understand their roles and delegates specific tasks to the officers and volunteers. He/She will ensure the officers are getting help when needed. The President will compose meeting agendas. He/She also serves as liaison between the board and Athletic Director. Maintaining a good relationship with the Athletic Director(s) and keeping the administrator(s) informed of the organization's activities is essential for Athletics Booster effectiveness. He/ She works with other board leaders to connect families, school and community to support student success. The President is also responsible for general oversight of the board's finances. The President must attend all Booster meetings.

2018-2019 Stipend Opportunities

Paid stipend positions are available in the Athletics Department.  We are always looking for exemplary individuals who model citizenship, leadership, and sportsmanship and can serve as positive role models for our student-athletes.  Our student-athletes are our most frequent ambassadors to other communities, and our coaches realize that they set the tone for what the community should expect from our sports representatives.  Let us know if you have what it takes to lead!

You must be 18 years of age. NO experience necessary.  Compensation:  $1000.00 STIPEND, coaches uniform, training. Practice and games are Monday-Thursdays from 3:00 to 5:00 pm. If you have any interest at all please complete our interest form.
